Zu diesem Gig gibt es eine kleine Vorgeschichte.

Endlich war es soweit. Ich hatte Tickets für meine fav. new thrash band. Am 23.02.2008 sollte ich EVILE zum ersten mal live erleben. Denkst du! Als wir am 23.02. in Luxembourg angekommen waren erhielten wir die Nachricht, dass die Band einen Unfall mit Ihrem Trailer hatten und an diesem Abend nicht hier sind. Absolut scheiße dachte ich, weil ich extra wegen EVILE dort war. DOCH MEGADAVE sollte es an dem Abend raus reißen. Trotz einiger technischer Schwierigkeiten an dem Abend spielte MEGADETH satte 2 h. Sogar Klassiker wie THE MECHANIX fand man auf der Setlist. Also alles in Allem hat es sich trotzdem richtig gelohnt.

Back home again, I contacted EVILE's management to tell 'em, that I really missed the band the evening before. Soon after that I got a replay and the tour manager told me, that he will put me and a friend of mine, who was visiting MEGADETH too on 23th of Feb. with me on the guest list for Frankfurt (Neu-Isenburg) on 11th of March 2008. The last gig of the tour! Freakin' out!!! ;)

So weit so gut, als wir dann in Frankfurt angekommen sind und der Türsteher uns erzählte, wir würden nicht auf der Gästeliste stehen, glaubte ich schon die Band nie live erleben zu können. Doch zwei Bestechungsbier später holte er den Tour Manager zu uns raus und alles klärte sich auf.

An den Abend werde ich mich noch lange erinnern. Mein Kumpel und ich versoffen an dem Abend glaub ich 100,- EUR. Wir hingen den ganzen Abend mit der Band ab and I got signed my ENTER THE GRAVE CD. Mike trafen wir hauptsächlich draußen beim rauchen. Er gammelte uns immer um Feuer an.  We talked a lot about music and alltägliche sachen. He was so a nice guy! You will never be forgotten!! RIP Mike!!!

Conquering Europe Tour 2014

HOLY SH#T!!! I think I'm still drunk this morning! :-D What an evening!! Everyone who didn't show up last night to see LOST SOCIETY, SUICIDAL ANGELS, FUELED BY FIRE, EXARSIS & GODSLAVE in Trier GER missed the most thrashiest Tour til to this day. I tell ya!!

And ONE band nailed it to the top!!! You know which one???? I know you know.. Fuckin' LOST SOCIETY. They kicked maximum ass! Definitely the best live band I have seen in years. Have fun with the pix and vidz.
A big big fuckin' raiz'n Hell Yeah THRANK YOU to my maincat MARCI for hanging out with the "Speed Metal Drunk" every time again and again ;) ...and for driving me home savely :-D Cheers Brother!

Zum Beispiel ein Grund, warum ich nun in deutsch weiter schreibe.

Das Debutalbum von INJURY habe ich schon vor Monaten gekauft und wollte zu dieser Band speziell einen Beitrag schreiben weil ich finde, dass diese zwischen den üblichen Verdächtigen (Evile, Warbringer, BBB usw.) total untergehen und anscheinend nicht richtig gewürdigt werden.

Fakt ist, dass diese Combo aus Italien dermaßen bei mir eingeschlagen sind!! So einen fetten sound habe ich zuletzt bei Exodus Atrocity A gehört. Einfach genial!! Die haben sich auch einiges von den Großmeistern aus der Bay Area abgekupfert wie ich finde. Was keinesfalls negativ gemeint ist. Exodus gehört zu meinen All Time Favorites!!

INJURY wurde 2008 gegründet.

2010 veröffentlichten Sie in Eigenregie ihre erste Demo CD. Kurze Zeit später unterschrieb die Band einen Vertrag bei Punishment 18 Records und

im April 2011 wurde das Debut "UNLEASH THE VIOLENCE" unter v. g. Label veröffentlicht.

Auf jeden fall eine der besten Platte die ich mir vergangenes Jahr zugelegt habe. 
Wie ich finde ein perfekter Mix aus Exodus, Pantera, Metallica... Halt alles was kracht aus den 80s und 90s.

In The Pit Of: Suicidal Angels

That was an awesome night on 8th of January 2010... I was so drunk! :)) I spent all my money for beer. For the last 15 EUR and I had to choose between the SANCTITY THE DARKNESS CD or the Official Tour Shirt of Suicidal Angels. I decided to grab the Tour Shirt of course. Nick ask me if I have the SANCTITY THE DARKNESS record. I didn't had it at that time. I said no and I was sorry for can't buying it right now because I was so drunk and had no money left for the CD so Nick gave it to me and all of 'em signed the Booklet as well. After hanging awile with Angel and Nick, Angel woke me up at the end of the main act's set (I think KREATOR was playing) and I was carried home by my girlfriend. Great memories!! So thanks again to Nick and all of the Suicidal's!!!

Havok - Unnatural Selection 10/10

Long time since I bought my last NWOTM record so I went into the city last Saturday and bought Havok's Unnatural Selection.

So maybe some of you came up with the question: Why it took so long to get this record? Finally the album was released on 21. of June 2013...
Well I was waiting for a vinyl release but because I didn't heard anything about that until to this day, I couldn't wait any longer. I needed to know what the new record sounds like.

So when you first look at the producers name, you know this will sound like a head crusher. Amaizing sound, playful and musical a bit better than the previous release Time Is Up in my opinion. And Time Is Up was a monster of a new Thrash album!!

And if James Murphy is guilty as charged and he is responsible for the fine-tuning then horns up man. These little arrangements in Under the Gun, Waste Of Life are genious and fits in perfectly. 

As a drummer I must salute Mr. Webber once again. I mean listen to I Am The State. This drum part at the end of the song is so fantastic. You only hear that by Havok. It's a shame because there are so many good drummer around but Havok got it obviously.

My personal faves are I Am The State, It Is True, Under The Gun, Chasing The Edge and Worse Than War.

To me Havok is still one of the best new Thrash bands nowaday. There is now doubt about it! And I think they will get the last critic after this killer record.

I give Unnatural Selection a 10/10!!

I was lucky enough to see Havok live on the 5th of Mai 2012 with Jesse de los Santos on bass. One of the most intense Thrash gigs I've ever been in my life. And I'm through various gigs ;) Very nice and solid guys too. And they all signed my LP as well. AWESOME!!

So enough of the past, go and get their new release Unnatural Selection and mosh 'til you die!

Tantara first time live in Germany

Yo Maniax!!!

I was in Darmstadt, GER on May 08 to see Tantara for the first time live. By the way it was also their first appearance here in Germany. They kicked maximum ASS that night. Huge thanx to Fred for the nice conversation and of corse for signing my LP's as well ;). Also thanx a lot to Stian & Emil! Hope everything's ok with Per?!

And beside of that I was able to see 4 other bands - Stage War, Torture Squad, Artillery and....... GAMA BOMB!! Amaizing night with lots of beerz!!

What can I say about Infinite Translation's Impulsive Attack except that this is a totally underrated classic new thrash metal album.

It's a killer album by a killer band from France. 

...but I don't know what I have to find cooler; the songs or this absolut killer Cover Artwork from Ed Repka. ;)

Angelus Apatrida - Clockwork LP

A very long wait has come to an end!!

The 3rd record "Clockwork" of spanish Thrashers Angelus Apatrida arrived en vinilo. 

This first press Gatefold LP from 2011 came out over Cuervo Music S.L. under exclusive license from Century Media Records Ltd. is stricly limited and hand numbered to 425 copies (I got No. 40) worldwide and featured the Iron Maiden Cover of "Be Quick Or Be Dead", which was also included on the limited CD edition.

This is definitely one of the best records ever were made. How can they top that?? Old school riffing with a massive wall of sound and vox which reminds me on old angry Mustaine dayz!
