Ich kann garnicht glauben, dass "PLUNGING INTO DARKNESS" schon drei Jahre alt ist!!
FUELED BY FIRE hatte ich das erste mal auf dem Schirm als ich mir 2007 die Earache Compilation "THRASHING LIKE A MANIAC" gekauft habe. Da war der Song MASSIVE EXECUTION drauf. Das Intro is dermaßen cool. Der ganze Song ist der Hammer, aber wenn ich an den Song denke fällt mir immer spontan das geile Akustikintro ein.
Nun schreiben wir 2013 und die Band hat diesen Monat schon ihr drittes Album an den Start gebracht. Irre wie die Zeit vergeht.
Die Platte kommt in einem Gatefold Cover, was ich schon mal sehr geil finde. Das Cover find ich jetzt so lala lala. Nix besonders. Das Layout widerum find ich ziemlich gut. Auch alle Songtexte sind abgedruckt. Das I bei FIRE fehlt und wurde offensichtlich im Druck vergessen :))) So ist das heut zu Tage. Da musste sparen wo es nur geht. ;))
Ich war jetzt noch nie ein Riesenfan der Band und fand jetzt auch PLUNGING INTO DARKNESS nicht unbedingt super geil aber was ich bis jetzt von
TRAPPED IN PERDITION gehöhrt habe gefällt mir eigentlich ganz gut.
CATASTROPHE, der Opener walzt sofort alles platt. Pfeilschnelle Riffs gepaart mit stampfenden Galopp Riffs. Da geht einem jeden Thrasher sofort das Herz auf. ;))
SUFFERING ENTITIES ist ein super Mix aus Death/Thrash Riffing inkl. Headbang Motherfucker Part in der Mitte. Lediglich das Solo finde ich noch ausbaufähig. Klingt mir zu sehr nach SLAYER und ich mag keine SLAYER Solis. RIP Jeff!
FORSAKEN DEITY ist wieder ein schöner Midtempo Stampfer und einer meiner favorite Songs.
PROFANE PATH ich sag nur Kickdrum. Sehr wild der Part in Mitten des Songs.
DEFACED MORTALITY föhnt dir glaub ich live sowas von die Matte. Sehr geiles Riff gleich am Anfang. Auch die Harmonie Parts find ich richtig gut gelungen, passen zum Song und werten entsprechend auf. Super Rausschmeißer aus Seite A. ;)
SIDE B ist die logische Folge von A. Vielleicht ein bischen Deathlastiger sogar als A. Aber der ryhtmische Kopfschüttler kommt auch im zweiten Teil der Platte nicht zu kurz. Meine Faves auf Seite B sind OBLITERATION und ABEYANT FUTURE. Das Zusammenspiel der beiden Songs sind einfach nur genial.
Leider vermisse ich auch auf dieser Platte Ohrwürmer a la MASSIVE EXECUTION oder THRASH IS BACK.Dennoch 11 super Tracks die auf jeden Fall
spaß machen. Persönlich finde ich ne Steigerung zum Vorgänger, die dennoch nicht an das Debut heran kommt. Trotz des mächtigen Sounds.
Ich gebe der Platte ne 7/10

TRANSLATION
I cannot believe, that "PLUNGING INTO DARKNESS" is already three years old! The first time I had FBF
on the screen was back in 2007 when I bought the Earache Compilation
"THRASHING LIKE A MANIAC" which feat. the Song MASSIVE EXECUTION.The
intro is so cool. The whole song is awesome, but when I think of the song the, mighty acoustic intro rememberd always spontaneously.
Now we write 2013 and this month FBF already released their third album. Crazy how time flies.The record comes in a gatefold cover, what is very cool I think. The Artwork not really blows me away but its OK. Nothing particularly. Naturally the layout I think is pretty good. All song lyrics are printed. The FIRE I is missing and was apparently forgotten in the pressure :))) So that is now-a-days. Save money where you can. ;))

has never been a huge fan of the band and I think PLUNGING INTO
DARKNESS is not one of their best work but what I heard until now by
TRAPPED IN PERDITION I actually like quite well.
CATASTROPHE, the opener rolls immediately everything flat. Lightning-fast riffs paired with pounding Gallop riffs. The heart immediately goes up by every Thrasher. ;))
SUFFRING ENTITIES is a super blend of death/thrash riffing incl. Headbang motherfucker part in the middle. I think only the solo is yet expandable. Sounds to me too much like SLAYER and I like no SLAYER Solis. RIP Jeff!
FORSAKEN DEITY is again a nice midtempo masher and one of my favorite songs.
PROFANE PATH I only say kick drum. Very wild part in the middle of the song.
DEFACED MORTALITY blows you away by starting the song. Awesome riff at the very beginning which comes more heavier live I think. Also the harmony parts are really well managed, fit to the song, and upgrade accordingly. Super bouncer from page A. ;)
SIDE B is the logical consequence of A. Maybe even a little more Death parts than A. But also the rythms headbangers comes to their goal on side B. My faves on B are FUTURE OBLITERATION and ABEYANT. The interaction of the two songs are just awesome.
Unfortunately I miss catchy tunes a la MASSIVE EXECUTION or THRASH IS BACK. Anyway.. ON TRAPPED IN PERDITION you will find 11 thrash anthems that make a lot of fun definitely. Personally I find an increase to its predecessor, but still not coming up to the debut despite the powerful sounds.
I give this record a 7/10
