Wenn wir einmal alle ehrlich zu uns sind, würde nicht Austrian Death Machine auf der Platte drauf stehen, würde dieses Album wohl alle Rekorde brechen. Man kann in Bezug auf Tim sagen und halten was man will, aber diese Platte ist nicht Total Brutal, nicht Double Brutal und auch NICHT Triple Brutal. Dieses Album ist MAXIMUM BRUTAL!!!

If we're all honest to ourselves, if there was not written Austrian Death Machine on it, this record will score highest levels. You can say what you want about Tim Lambesis, but this record is not Total Brutal, is not Double Brutal and it is NOT Triple Brutal. This is MAXIMUM BRUTAL!!!

SONGWRITING 4/5
Sehr geile Songs. Von Vorne bis Hinten durch, die Platte behält ihr Abwechslungsreichtum. Wohl auch eine, wenn nicht sogar die Thrashigste Platte von Austrian Death Machine. Zwei der wohl besten Beispiele "I Know Now Why You Cry" und das darauf folgende "I Lied". Hier schäumt mein Thrasherherz nur so über vor Freude. ;) Killer Solies, der Spaßfaktor war wohl noch nie so hoch.
Leider für meinen Geschmack aber immer noch eine zu hohe Essenz an Metalcore. Auch würde ich mir im "Gesang" mehr Abwechslung wünschen. Versteht mich bitte nicht falsch, ich liebe Crowls, aber ein bischen mehr Stimme an der ein oder anderen Stelle, hätte den Songs sicherlich nicht schlecht getan. Daher kann ich leider nicht die Höhstpunktzahl vergeben.

Great songs. Varied from the beginning until to the end. One, if not THE thrashiest record of Austrian Death Machine. Two of the best examples "I Know Now Why You Cry" and the following "I Lied". These will start pumping my thrashing heart. ;) Killer Solies, the fun part was never higher than this in my opinion. 
But also for me too much essence of Metalcore. I also would like to hear more varity in the vocals. Don't get me wrong, I'm really diggin' heavy crowls, but I think a bit more voice here and there wouldn't effect the songs in a negativ way. Therefore I can't give the highest score for songwriting. 


SOUND 5/5
Soundtechnisch kannste wohl viel mehr nicht raus holen. Eine Mischung aus moderner Heavyness und klassischer Leichtigkeit. Drums und Bass sind perfekt auf einander abgestimmt und abgemischt.

Soundingwise, you can't get more. A Mix of modern heavyness and classic ease. Drums and Bass are matched perfectly to each other.

Havok - Unnatural Selection Vinyl 5/5

Über dieses Album habe ich eigentlich schon alles hier im Blog gesagt. Eins meiner Favorites in 2013. Umso besser, dass jetzt 2014 die logische Schlussfolgerung, nämlich die Platte auch in 12" zu pressen endlich erfolgte. Und um dem Ganzen noch das gewisse Etwas zu verleihen, haben die Leute bei BACK ON BLACK wirklich alles in die Platte gesteckt was ging. 180 g feinstes Vinyl als Double Gatefold LP mit der kompletten POINT OF NO RETURN EP von 2012. Halloohoo? Wie geil ist das denn bitte?!!



SONGWRITING 5/5
Thrash Metal wie du Ihn besser nicht machen kannst. Die alten Herrschaften von Metallica, Slayer und Co. wären froh, sie könnten heute nochmal so ne Platte veröffentlichen. Alt bleibt genial, aber jetzt ist es Zeit für die neuen Wilden. ;) 

SOUND 6/5
Soundtechnisch setzt diese Platte neue Maßstäbe und klingt nochmal besser als die digitale Veröffentlichung. Der Sound ist viel druckvoller als auf CD. Der absolute Wahnsinn!! God bless vinyl!! ;) Jetzt wird der Sound dem Album auch wirklich gerecht.

Mad Maze - Frames Of Alienation

Na bin ich mal gespannt. Viel zu lange hat es gedauert. Nun habe ich mir endlich mal die erste Veröffentlichung der italienischen Thrasher MAD MAZE gekauft. Die Erwartungen nach der Platte von ULTRA-VIOLENCE, deren Landsmänner sind hoch... ;) Wobei man ja fairerweise dazusagen muss, dass FRAMES OF ALIENATION schon früher veröffentlicht wurde.

... Also viele Hördurchläufe braucht der erste Longplayer von MAD MAZE nicht. :) Schon gleich der Opener holzt dermaßen rein. Bei diesem Album passt mal wieder alles. Vom Artwork (mal wieder vom Master of Disaster ED REPKA) über die sehr starken vocals bis hin zu den perfekten Arrangements und den tollen Leads. Ein Album das definitiv in keiner Sammlung fehlen sollte. Vor allem nicht wenn man(n) auf Bands wie z. B. EXODUS abfährt. ;)

Da ist es nur logisch, dass ich FRAMES OF ALIENATION die Höchstnote verleihe. 10/10!!! Und das ist keinesfalls übertrieben.
Jetzt mag der Ein oder Andere meinen dass ich diese Note ziemlich häufig verleihe, aber was soll ich machen?! Zieht euch die Samples unten rein und Ihr werdet verstehen. :)
Zugegeben, ich bin auch etwas befangen, wenn es um Südeuropäischen New Thrash geht. ;) Bands wie INJURY, ULTRA-VIOLENCE, ANGELUS APATRIDA, HYADES etc. veröffentlichen unter anderem seit mehreren Jahren mehr als erstklassige Thrash Alben und zählen daher nicht zu unrecht zu meinen absoluten Lieblingen!!

Fakt ist auch, wenn ich dieses Album bereits letztes Jahr nach dem Erscheinen gekauft hätte, hätte mein Ranking der Top 5 "2012" etwas anders ausgesehen.

Injury: Italiens Thrash Institution

Zum Beispiel ein Grund, warum ich nun in deutsch weiter schreibe.

Das Debutalbum von INJURY habe ich schon vor Monaten gekauft und wollte zu dieser Band speziell einen Beitrag schreiben weil ich finde, dass diese zwischen den üblichen Verdächtigen (Evile, Warbringer, BBB usw.) total untergehen und anscheinend nicht richtig gewürdigt werden.

Fakt ist, dass diese Combo aus Italien dermaßen bei mir eingeschlagen sind!! So einen fetten sound habe ich zuletzt bei Exodus Atrocity A gehört. Einfach genial!! Die haben sich auch einiges von den Großmeistern aus der Bay Area abgekupfert wie ich finde. Was keinesfalls negativ gemeint ist. Exodus gehört zu meinen All Time Favorites!!

INJURY wurde 2008 gegründet.

2010 veröffentlichten Sie in Eigenregie ihre erste Demo CD. Kurze Zeit später unterschrieb die Band einen Vertrag bei Punishment 18 Records und

im April 2011 wurde das Debut "UNLEASH THE VIOLENCE" unter v. g. Label veröffentlicht.

Auf jeden fall eine der besten Platte die ich mir vergangenes Jahr zugelegt habe. 
Wie ich finde ein perfekter Mix aus Exodus, Pantera, Metallica... Halt alles was kracht aus den 80s und 90s.

Gama Bomb - Citizen Brain

I think Citizen Brain from Irish Thrashers Gama Bomb is one of the best new Thrash records and definitely an inspiration for many new Thrash bands nowadays. Listen to classics like "Evil Voices", "Global Warning", " Hammer Slammer", "Hell Trucker" or "Return of the Technodrome" and you'll see what I mean.
I bought this album on CD after it was released back in 2008. Today I got my 12" vinyl copy and I only now realize the AWESOMENESS of the cover artwork. Long live 12"!! :)

Lost Society - Fast Loud Death 4,9/5

Through several media the band Lost Society was on everyone's lips the last past weeks. Seems like Nuclear Blast has obviously done a great job. :) And not only there. Thanks again for letting me freak out one day before its official release here in germany. ;)

Lost Society is a new Thrash Metal combo from Finland. They was formed in 2010 by Samy Elbanna at the age of just 14. Their first 3-song Demo was made in August of 2011. With this in the back they apply at the worldwide talent compition "Global Battle of the Bands". Although the missing of the registration deadline cannot stop these maniax and they won the local battle. So tireless live playing pays off precisley. 

And now the time has come for worlds infecting by releasing their Debut Loud Fast Death in 2013.

So my thoughts about this record, oh man that's really hard. Where should I start. I start with the cover. The artwork comes from the MAN in cover artwork himself Mr. Ed Repka and it looks totally awesome in 12". But why 12" when you can have it in A2?! Yeah, you get this great art in a poster format with the vinyl. Have I say before that I love vinyls? ;) In my opinion the cover reflects perfectly what you can expect from the inside. The finest Thrash Metal you could find nowaday. Best Art for best bands! As simply as that.

The vinyl version comes as a 12" Gatefold Edition includes 13 tracks and 2 Bonus tracks so you get a lot of metal for your money. And not only metal, as I said before you get one of the best new Thrash Metal songs I heard for a long time. I mean songs like "Piss out my ass" or "Bitch, out' my way" doesn't need more further declarations right?! :)) The vinyl I got is a strictly limited color/ clear vinyl and was only pressed to 150 copies worldwide.I think they are all sold out already but if you're a vinyl fan like myself is one, you can order the normal black vinyl directely through the Nuclear Blast Shop here. So go and get your copy soon and freak out like I did to this new masterpiece! :)))

Bludvera - Terrorform

Eradikator - Dystopia 10/10

As some of you know or might not know, I'm a really huge fan of the N.W.O.T.M.-Scene especially of the UK Thrash since back in 2007 like bands such as Warpath, Mutant, Gama Bomb, SSS, Pitful Reign, Savage Messiah and so on. But it all started with Evile's Enter the Grave...

The cover of Dystopia from Eradikator reminds me a bit of previous named LP.

So how does it come that I never heard of this band before? This is unforgivable!! Dystopia is a smooth 10 of 10. This album is killer man!! Great sound produced by their own and mixed and mastered by Ajeet Gill with Andy MacNevin  at Hellfire Studios, Birmingham UK.
All songs has the feelings of 80s Metallica, the dynamic of early Megadeth. Pat act like a mangy mutt on the mike. Sounds like dunkin' Hetfield back in the 80s.
All leads were such high quality. No wonder if you look at their influences (Kirk Hammett, Marty Friedman, Jimmy Hendrix, Slash to name only the most important).

What I like the most on this record besides these great heavy and ingenious riffs, the perfect fitting drums and the mighty leads is the fact that the more you hear it, the more you get sucked into it. It gets boring at NO time!

I really enjoy the end of the album because it is fully instrumental and Odysseus is one of the best songs ever were written for me. It is melancholy, sensitive, slow, fast and simultaneously so heavy though. Words can not even describe again. ;) 

So you have to have a listen and spread the word like a fuckin' virus ERADIKATOR! 

 

Lich King - Born of the Bomb 10/10

What I liked more than the music of Lich King in the past were these unbelievable covers. ;) Everyone great in his own. But with Born of the Bomb, they surpasses them selves! :)

And that means killer cover artwork paired with more killer thrash!! Definitely one of the highlights in 2012.
Sux that there is no 12" Vinyl presses out. That would certainly make the cover even more impressive! :)

Starting with the titel which could not have been more appropriate, the arragements to the sound, the killer leads, the vox were awesome, aggressive and to the point. And the drumming... Can't believe how high qualitiy this record is. Of course an increase to the previous releases. What can I say except go you fux out there and by Born of the Bomb until the world ends on 22nd... ;)

One of my favorite songs and of course one of you had to check out first is Agnosticism. This song reflects perfect the power of this record for me. The main-riff eats itself into your brain and won't disappear again. After this amaising solo, the song move on to another level. Words can't describe man. You have to feel it...
Every song on the record is a nuclear attack on your auricle.

Crisix - The Menace CD

WTF! How can I get through this?! Yesterday this unbelievable thrash-monster from Angelus Apatrida named The Call and then today The Menace from Crisix arrived :) Crisix is also a thrash band from spain and they were fuckin' AWESOME.
